THE ARTS IN EASTPORT
Eastport has a rich tradition of arts and culture. One hundred years ago, artists began coming to paint the area’s beautiful landscapes, and they were soon joined by literary and musical friends. Today’s arts scene is equally vibrant, encompassing fine arts, theater, film, music and arts education. The Tides Institute and Museum of Art has a permanent collection of art and artifacts in addition to its rotating exhibits. The Eastport Arts Center is home to The Eastport Art Gallery, Stage East, the Northern Lights Film Society, the Eastport Strings, the Passamaquoddy Bay Symphony Orchestra, ArtsBloom for art education, and the Concert Series bringing outside groups to perform in Eastport. Please consult the EAC website for a calendar of upcoming events.
