Salmon and Seafood Festival
Labor Day Weekend

Since 1987 Eastport Maine has celebrated the end of the summer with a festival, a gathering, and a homage to our local resources. At the center of the celebration is the Atlantic salmon, raised in the cold waters of Passamaquoddy Bay.
While food is the main theme of the weekend, enjoy live music by regional performers, arts and crafts vendors, galleries, gift shops, museums, locally brewed beers (wine too) all weekend. Funds raised support local festivals, holiday lights, downtown beautification and more!
On Seafood Saturday, enjoy crab rolls (to benefit the Eastport Senior Center), blueberry cake (to benefit the Peavey Library), Maine farm fresh oysters, and lobster & salmon towers ($). Explore the architecture of our historic town as 6 home owners and Peavey Library welcome visitors to appreciate buildings of various styles ($). The oyster shucking workshop ($) with Kyle from Three Island Oysters was the surprise hit last year and Kyle is back again! Free all-ages activities include a youth fishing derby, touch tank and all-ages, interactive art activities at Overlook Park, and a moonlight movie "Jaws" at dusk.
The centerpiece of Sunday is always the community salmon barbecue. Each diner gets a 5 oz grilled salmon portion donated by Cooke USA, Raye’s Winter Garden Mustard sauce, Aroostook County herbed potato salad, 4-bean salad, homemade rolls with Tide Mill Farm butter and wild Maine blueberry cake with whipped cream ($). We eat under the big tent with our friends, neighbors, and visitors. We gaze at the breathtaking view of Passamaquoddy Bay just a few feet away as we enjoy our meals and listen to music by local musicians. Guided informational tour departures to the Salmon Pens offered at 11 am, 12 noon, 1 pm, 2 pm ($).
